What You Need to Know About Clear Braces

Posted on

If you have crooked teeth, braces are designed to be the simple solution. There are different types of braces that you can choose from, but clear braces known as Invisalign aligners are the most preferred option for many. These braces are discreet and often times go without notice from others. This means that invisible braces are a great option no matter what age you may be. Before you choose to have clear braces fitted for your mouth, it is important that you are aware of all the little known details associated with this type of braces. Many people wrongly assume that clear braces function in the same way as traditional braces, but there are a number of differences that you need to be aware of beforehand.

Commitment

Unlike traditional metal braces, clear braces can be removed. This means that they can be taken directly from your mouth. This is required for eating and cleaning purposes, but some people remove them more often. This is not recommended. If you are not willing to stay committed to wearing these braces for most of each day, it is not worth making the investment. Clear braces are only effective in correcting your alignment of your teeth if you wear them regularly.

Bites

It is possible for clear braces to be worn to correct bite issues. Special rubber bands must be attached to the braces to allow for bite issues to be effectively addressed. This means that clear braces can correct a number of different issues involving the alignment of your teeth. Don't just assume that your alignment issue can't be corrected through the use of Invisalign.

New Aligners

It is also important that you will not be wearing the same aligners for the entire duration. You will have to change your aligners about every two weeks. The exact time that your aligners will be changed is most dependent on the plan that your dentist puts in place. This means that you need to speak with your dentist and have a good understanding of the period of time in between each aligner change before you have them fitted for your mouth.

Care

It is important that you make caring for your clear braces a priority. It is best to soak them regularly using a specially designed Invisalign solution. This will ensure that the braces do not become discolored as a result. These cleaners are also designed to kill germs and bacteria more effectively than just water alone.
